Grace 101
Part A

Beloved, I want to share a very important, foundational truth about grace that you must never deviate from.  This truth is an absolute that you must seal in your heart, never forget and always apply be mindful of in your own grace walk. The truth is this:

-Grace will never over ride your free will-

At first glance, this might not sound like a very powerful statement to you, but I assure you that it is. Many, many, many false religions and false doctrinal standpoints derive out of an misunderstanding of this truth. As marvelous, powerful, consuming and sufficient as the grace of God is, rest assured and know beyond all shadow of doubt, IT IS ONLY ACCESSIBLE BY FAITH, NOTHING ELSE. God’s grace will never lay hold of someone, but rather, grace must be laid hold of. Teachings/Doctrines such as ‘Irresistible Grace’ which Calvinism teaches, or that of Inclusion and Universalism are untrue because of this very reason, that they violate the truth that God’s grace will never violate or over ride your free will. God does not force anyone to become born again, or to receive any of His blessings, but rather they are freely received as gifts by faith. The Bible says in 2 Peter 2 that, “It is not God’s will that any should perish.” But, do people still perish and die without Jesus and thus suffer eternally in a literal, unimaginably tormenting hell? Yes, of course. The fact is, if it doesn’t involve your choice, then it isn’t faith. Again, faith is the only thing that can access God’s grace, and that is why Heb. 11:6 says that, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him…” The Bible also says in Romans 5:12 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. By whom also we have access into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Ladies and gentlemen, as you probably know, there is much much much to say about the manifold grace of God. And as you know, when you build a building you have to start with the foundation. Well, grace of course, is the foundation of Christianity. But, grace in-and-of itself has some foundational ground, and a very important part of the foundation of grace is what we have discussed in this teaching, and that is that:

-Grace will never over ride your free will-
