Hey Shep, You Feeding Those Sheep Or Beating Those Sheep???
Hebrews 10:2 – ‘For then would they not have ceased to be offered? BECAUSE THAT WORSHIPPERS ONCE PURGED SHOULD HAVE NO MORE CONSCIENCE OF SINS.’
No more conscience of sins, huh? Well, more ministers should get a hold of this verse. It would certainly get rid of A LOT of preaching material for ministers who like to condemn and beat up on sheep. Ministers: Remember, your job is to feed your sheep, not to continually beat them, call them out, publicly embarrass them, ect. Remember, a pulpit is a place of feeding, not shaming and guilting. It’s not a whipping post! As ministers, we often want so very bad for our beloved church members and those under our ministerial influence to ‘get it!’ Out of that strong desire, it is very easy to get into a mode of condemning people thinking that that will somehow shame them out of they destructive, sinful or non-productive areas of there life. But the fact is, when you put condemning laws upon people, sin will abound! Not maybe, it will! (Rom. 6:14, 1 Cor. 15:56) Jesus said that He came to preach the Acceptable Year of the Lord! He came to preach our acceptance from the Father! 1 Cor. 13 says that ‘love NEVER fails! So we know from this verse that we can stop depending upon our human reason and humanistic efforts to produce change in people’s lives, and we can always minister the Something that NEVER FAILS to bring forth supernatural results in our people’s lives! 2 Cor. 5 says that ‘God is not imputing our sins against us.’ So, if He isn’t imputing sins against our sheep, who are we to do so! So, begin to feed your sheep with life giving meals of Agape from the Word of Life! As you do, you will at some point see the Word of Grace, the Word of Truth bring forth fruit in your people’s lives! (Col. 1)
